My name is Morton. I was owned and loved my family but they gave me away in a Wal-Mart parking lot. My new family didn't want me either and brought me Last Hope. I am about 1 year old and would love to be your best friend, but please make it permanent, I want to belong! I am awesome with other dogs and love every person I meet. I need to be crated when my foster is not home and when I go to sleep, and I love to play in a back yard that is fenced! I am nuetered and current with all my shots! Adoption feee: $275 ( cash only, no checks) Call Angela at Last Hope at 651-451-7603 for more info

Piper, poodle mix, did not get out much as a puppy so we got him more socialized! He know loves to play with other dogs and loves people. Sometimes, however, we is gets tired, he will let you know by a growl or a fake nip so best with kids 12 and up that know that sign! He also still play-bites a little. He is an awesome player and would love another dog to romp with but he also loves to cuddle! He is shedless and will need haircuts every 6-8 weeks that cost $40 each time! Call Stacey at 651-414-9939 to learn more. Adoption fee: $275

Chewie is a 3 year old housebroken lab mix that is very calm. She does take some time to warm up so she will do best with a fenced-in yard. She is good with other dogs but loved to chase cats to the basement so best with a home without cats. Fine with kids 12 and up that are good to her! She weighs about 55 lbs. Her owners did not want her anymore since now they have a baby. Adoption fee: $250 Calll Francie from Last Hope to learn more at 952-956-4932!
________________________________________________ Elliott is about 6 months old and quite cute now that he's had a haircut. He was one big mat when we picked him up from the dog catchers. He is now neutered and current with shots He will need grooming every 6-8 weeks so he doesn't get matted again! Lhasas are fun when they are young, but as they grow they become more cat like and little prince! They do best with kids 10 and up since as adults, most of them want to sit and do what they want when they want and they do not tolerate fast movement and ruff housing! Adoption fee: $350 ( cash only, no checks) Lat Hope Volunteers: Dan or Kim 612-578-3350
_______________________________________________ Barlow is a quiet, 4 year old yorkie-chi mix that weighs about 15 lbs. He should be about 11 lbs!! He got a lot of treats in his previous home. He came to us because the owners couldn't take care of him anymore. He was never taken out to go potty because the owner couldn't walk and concentrate so he is getting a refresher course and doing very well. He is fine with dogs but best with dogs 35 lbs or less because the big ones are sooo big! He will do best in a quiet home with someone who wants to love him up! Adoption Fee: $250 (cash only, no checks) Call Jane, a volunteer for Last Hope at 651-698-3049 for more info!

Adoption Fee: $225 (cash only, no checks) He is current with shots and neutered!

Lulu is a 7 year old shiba being fostered through the Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue. When Lulu was surrendered to rescue she had horrible allergies that had gone untreated and caused her to lose most of her fur. She has since regrown most of her fur back although she still has some work to do! Lulu is a sweet girl who neither bothers nor is bothered by other dogs. She enjoys short walks, but won't hesitate to let you know when it's time to go home and snuggle! Lulu has gone through alot in her years here and deserves a second chance with a family who will make her the beloved buddy she so longs to be! Lulu is spayed, microchipped and UTD on all of her shots. The adoption fee for Lulu is $150. For more information please visit www.shibarescue.org!

Wizard is stunning! Who would not fall in love with this good looking guy? Wizard is 3 years old and he weighs 70 pounds.

Bellita and Chaquito are a mom and son combo. They are very sweet and love each other very much. Mom is 3-1/2 years old and the son is 2-1/2 years old. The son is his mom's guardian. They are 3-4 lbs and are very little. Because they are fragile they would do best in a home with no kids younger than 14. They do well with housebreaking if you can let them out several times during the day. However. they can hold it all night under the covers! They are spayed, and neutered, had teeth cleaned and current with all shots! Call Kim from Last Hope for more info: 952-484-9286 Adoption fee: $525 for the pair ( cash only, no checks)
________________________________________________ Balto is a stunning, fluffy black Husky/Shepherd mix whose looks match his brains! This guy is as smart as he is sweet. He hasn't seen the best side of life living as a neglected outdoor dog but his future is looking bright. Balto is learning what being a well loved house dog is like and boy does he like what he is experiencing! He loves no longer having to be cold and alone outside. He is working on his housetraining and with a crate and a schedule is doing well though it has just been started. He is very thin still and has been known to sneak food off the counter when his foster mom isn't looking but as he learns he will never go hungry again and learns that doesn't make his foster mom happy, he is stopping. He is getting used to all the things living in a house brings...stairs, tile floor, vacuums, etc. They can be a bit scary to him but he sure loves food and is willing to try them for a treat and some petting. He is submissive with other dogs and likes them very much but no cats for him, they look like tasty treats! Balto is used to older kids and does well with them. He loves to go for walks and then relax in the house with his family. If you have the time and patience to complete the training with this guy, he will repay you in spades! If you have questions and/or would like an application, email Laura at lberg05@comcast.net. UPDATE: This big, beautiful boy is looking for some love! He is loved by his foster mom, loved by all who encounter him, but still doesn't have a home. He knows how to sit, he tries so hard to please, he loves to wrestle and snuggle and is the perfect blend of active and mellow. He still needs to learn the house a bit but boy has he loved being inside now that its cold. He enjoys the snow like crazy but is so grateful for his time inside being loved. Balto loves to play, wrestle around, and goof off but he's smart and sure uses his brain to find out what his people want him to do. Please take a chance on this guy, he is exceptional. ________________________________________________
Petey is looking for her very first home. She is 7.5 years old. She is a real sweetie.

Buddy is a 6 month old male being fostered by Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue. Buddy came to MSIR from a shelter and is just as sweet as can be! Buddy appears to be part shiba, part "your guess is as good as mine", but we are thinking that it's likely a laborador/retriever mix. Buddy will likely be a medium-large dog as a result of the mix of the two! Buddy is almost fully house trained and gets along well with other dogs and people! The adoption fee for Buddy is $300 and all adopters MUST have completed an MSIR home visit.
For more information on Buddy, please contact Tonie at amplmortenson@gmail.com.

Big Mama.... wow. 100 pounds of the biggest, softest, wimpy Lab you have ever met. She totally thinks she is a lap dog, and will crawl into your lap and pin you while she wags with utter delight. She is very gentle with little kids, cats and other dogs. She is so fat we thought she was pregnant, but just a chub. Walks will go a long ways, but she is always going to be a heftier girl. She is learning the steps, previously a kennel dog so all this house stuff is new to her. For whatever reason, maybe just that smart, she is catching onto the housetraining really quickly though and LOVES her crate for the workday. She needs some major confidence building, some daily walks, and some TLC, and she is a treasure waiting to be shined up. For obvious reasons, all animals adopted from Homeward Bound MUST live indoors only. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested for heartworm and lyme disease. You can email Laura at lberg05@comcast.net for more information and/or a pre-adoption questionnaire.

Fred (racing name is Fry That Spam)
Fred is an 11 year old boy looking for his very first home. He is a special needs kind of guy. He will be going through a surgical procedure on one of his eyes, and he will also be going through treatment for lymphosarcoma. Fred is so sweet and he would really like someone to love. Can you bring this boy some love? That's his Christmas wish.
________________________________________________ Ozzy: Think of Rottweilers as tough macho men dogs? Obviously you have not spent any time with Mr. Happy Ozzy. Sadly surrendered by his previous owners, it is obvious he had been well loved. This dog wags his tail so hard he could achieve lift off. He may kiss a toddler right to the ground, he adores the kids, and is the biggest wimp in the world with the other dogs. At his foster home, he is cheerfully bossed around by a 15 pound dog and he takes it in stride (however, he is not amused with cats and does not want to live with them!). Ozzy is only a year old, so still has some play and puppy to him, but is housetrained and crate trained already. He's got the rough guy look, with the total marshmallow softy interior. If you have questions and/or would like an application, please email Laura at lberg05@comcast.net. ________________________________________________
Shaq is a slam dunk! Seriously, whoever gets to take this guy home is going to think they won the dog lottery, he's that wonderful. Shaq is an adult Black Lab mix whose ability to win over hearts has saved him from death multiple times. He was originally a Hurricane Gustav survivor who spent the past year waiting his turn at the shelter down south. He is a favorite of the volunteers down there and we can sure see why...he is the happiest dog you'll ever meet. He lives life with a gigantic doggy grin on his face, kisses everyone he meets, and is sure that everyone who meets him is his best friend (which after 5 minutes, they are!). Shaq gets along great with other dogs and loves the kids. He is working hard on his housetraining and it is coming along amazingly well for a former outdoor dog with the use of a crate and a schedule. Shaq loves to be petted and would sit by your side for hours if it meant his ears would get scratched. This guy is exceptional and sure has our hearts as well. This is way to good a dog to still be homeless! This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested for heartworm and lyme disease. If you have questions and/or would like an application, please email Laura at lberg05@comcast.net. _______________________________________________________
